In the Philippines back few years ago, it was very hard to get a marriage or birth certificate when you apply. The usual turnout time may even take weeks before you get to hold the said document in your hand.

Today however, all that has changed. With plenty of places and services you can opt in to apply for a birth certificate or marriage certificate and yes, even your CENOMAR, application procedures have been made easier.


You can now get any of the documents issued by the NSO at any local minicipal city hall. In Caloocan for example from where our family is based, we tried applying for our birth certificate and it only took us a couple of hours and we already have it on hand before the afternoon arrives in our hand watch. It just took us 3 to 4 hours to get it starting from the filling up of the application form to claiming it in their claim window.

Convenience is what we call it and you only have to pay a few extra bucks to opt in to this great service.

NSO document home or door to door delivery usually takes 2-7 days depending upon the bulk of orders and the place with which the birth or marriage certificate is to be delivered. Outside Metro Manila usually takes a couple of days longer than those which will be delivered within the metro.
